Belinda Criticized For Copying Shakira And Rihanna In New Music Video

After releasing her “Déjate Llevar” music video, fans scrutinized Belinda for wearing an outfit that Rihana wore in April and shared on her Instagram. They also criticized her because of her dance moves, saying she was trying to copy Shakira.

To her critics, Belinda responded by saying the clothing she wore is a brand that many women have. As far as the dance moves go, the pop singer said it was an honor to get compared to somebody who dances as great as Shakira does.

“She dances great, what a comparison, it’s an honor because she’s a beautiful woman and we’re not competing,” said Belinda. “I admire all women, I am a fan of women, and I will always support them.”

In the music video, where Belinda appears alongside Juan Magan, Manuel Turizo, B-Case, and Snova, she belly dances like Shakira, wearing an outfit similar to the Colombian singer’s taste. The video garnered nearly 10 million views in one week.

Whether or not she copied Rihanna or Shakira on purpose, the outfit does resemble the Bad Girl in her April post. And Shakira’s iconic dance moves are hard to replicate without getting called out by those hardcore fans looking for trouble.
