Supermodel Adriana Lima posted a powerful message slamming the modeling industry. The Brazilian model shared this empowering message via Instagram to all women who suffer the pressure of society.

“I want to support you. I want you to know that I am here,” Lima wrote. “We have known each other for very long time, and I want to help you if you allow me.”

Ever since a personal friend approached her to tell her she was unhappy the way she looked, it impacted her and needed to share this message. She wants to try to influence the standards in the modeling industry and uplift women who find themselves in the same position.

“I have my own things/insecurities too; I am not afraid anymore to express them, they are part of me. My job puts me in such big pressure to look a certain way,” “we ‘a woman’ can’t be continuing living in a world with such superficial values,” she continued.

The model/mother admitted having personal issues and that she isn’t as perfect as her job demanded her to be. She is calling out all those women to raise their voice, stay together and not to get carried away by the standards imposed by the media.

“I will not take my clothes off anymore for an empty cause,” wrote the Victoria’s Secret angel. She was one of the highest paid models at some point during her career.

Lima talked on behalf of her children and said that she wanted to start those changes in the name of her mother, grandmother, and ancestors. The modeling industry has always been known for being a fantasy world of women with the perfect body and face.

Every day the standard of beauty can be seen in fashion magazines with photoshopped images of women that become the role model of younger girls who dream to be like them in the future, thus, never ending the tendency. “Let s f***ing change the world,” she wrote.
