62 Latino-Owned Construction Companies Bid To Build Trump’s Wall

Over 600 companies have submitted their bid to be a part of Donald Trump’s $21 billion plan to build a border wall. Ten percent of the registered businesses are Latino-owned despite being opposed to the wall, saying money is money no matter the situation.

Patrick Balcazar, the owner of San Diego Project Management, PSC, in Puerto Rico, thinks the wall is a bad decision economically and environmentally speaking. He believes it’s a waste of time and money, but he would rather that money end up in his company’s pockets.

“I defend your right to be stupid. If you want to put up a wall, I’m going to put up the best wall I can and I’m going to pay my people.” – Patrick Balcazar

Donald Trump’s hate rhetoric used against the Latino community has led most immigrants to oppose his agenda to build a 30-foot wall. He promised Mexico would pay for it, but his plan changes every time he speaks about the subject.

The fact of the matter is there is no budget to build the wall, but if they ever do start construction, Michael Evangelista-Ysasaga wants to be in charge. Evangelista is CEO of Penna Group in Fort Worth, Texas and he says building a border wall is not the issue.

“The story isn’t, ‘Hey there’s a Latino guy building a wall to keep other Latino people out. It’s that we need comprehensive immigration reform.” – Michael Evangelista-Ysasaga

Jorde Diaz is another Latino bidding to get the Trump Wall contract. He manages De La Fuente Construction, Inc. and says his company does not lean to the left or right in politics – they see this case as work and nothing else but that.

Despite being an immigrant himself, Frank Meza believes we should support the POTUS as long as he does not break the law. Meza served in the U.S. military and is now the general manager of Tabeza Holdings, and he supports a strong defense of the United States.

These contractors defend themselves by stating that they would rather be in control than somebody who hates immigrants. They even said some other contractors were speaking about inhumane designs including landmines and electric fences.

While they may have a point, they will still be a part of an inhumane project as a whole. Fortunately, it doesn’t seem like the wall will be finished anytime soon, so there’s nothing to break our heads about.
