They say love is blind, and a woman from Arizona fell in love with a stray “kitty” because she didn’t notice the cat was not what she thought. This lady’s action went viral when she mistakenly sheltered and bathed what turned out to be a mountain lion.
She posted the photo on AnthemStuff’s Facebook page, with the caption: “Found Lost cat Panhandle near Hudson Trail. He was a little dirty, so we are cleaning him up. Will post better pics later. Have already contacted Anthem Pets. Can only keep for the night, seems friendly though.”
The photo showed the mountain lion in a bathtub covered in foam. The woman cleaned up the mountain lion to help it find a new home.
Internet users soon found out the woman was only trolling her Facebook friends. The picture is from a Russian video of a man bathing a mountain lion. This prank is popular in areas that these wild animals call home.
Animal lovers and animal rights activists, actively share photos of cats and dogs on social media in efforts to get them a new place to live. Some animals don’t need their help, though.
Earlier this month, a similar situation occurred in Kansas when Eric Hertlein went to visit his grandma. He noticed something strange with one of the three cats his grandma rescued. One of the supposed cats his grandma turned out to be a possum!
“I told her it was not what she thought,” said Eric. “She assured me it was one of her cats. I laughed for about five minutes.” When she finally realized it was not a cat, she said she was okay with it staying.
