“You know compassion is being able to understand the seat and the reality that someone else is sitting in,” says 38-year-old American actor and singer Tyrese Gibson in an emotional video that he recorded, where he shows his vulnerability as he starts crying over not being able to see his daughter in two months. ‘Roman Pearce’ as he is called in the ‘Fast & Furious’ movie franchise is currently involved in an intense legal battle with his ex-wife Norma Mitchell who filed a restraining order against Gibson.
Mitchell claims that Gibson was being physically and emotionally abusive to her and their 10-year-old daughter Shayla. ““I just have come to a point where I felt that I really want to have a voice and speak up for myself. It’s been a long time that I have been going through this and I just want to move on and move forward,” Mitchell told MadamNoire. “Yes, there was [physical and emotional abuse in my marriage]. Definitely. If you have this conversation with many women, they can tell you the exact same thing. Sometimes it’s so covert that you don’t know it’s happening until it’s happening,” added Mitchell.

On the video, we can see the actor talking about a variety of paternity issues while wearing a black sweatshirt donning the name of his daughter. Gibson also let’s know on the video that he has a second child coming, before he breaks down in tears saying “Don’t take my baby, this is all I got”. He then speaks directly to his wife saying that he is not doing anything illegal and is protected by the first amendment, soon after that, he cries “I’m at $13,000 a month! What more do you want from me?!” as he breaks down again and starts talking about not feeling supported by his friends who he claims he has been there for in times of need.

Gibson then says that he doesn’t hate the mother of his daughter, “If I hate her mother then that’s saying a lot about what I’m feeling about my daughter, you can decide to make this about women versus men, if that’s the thing that’s going to be something that you come with,” the actor then speaks directly to Norma again saying that he doesn’t hate her and that he doesn’t know why she hates him.
Im a big supporter of Tyrese Gibson. I really hope his custody battle works out for him. But one of his friends needs to take his phone away
