A terrible terror attack in Barcelona has led to the death of at least 13 people with a suspect arrested after a truck was driven into a crowd filled with tourist and local residents.
Scenes from the incident are disturbing and graphic as people were seen lying on the ground with blood splattered sporadically everywhere. Safety officials are currently on the ground to help the injured victims.
Joaquim Form, the Spanish interior minister, revealed that up to 50 people were injured in the attack with 13 confirmed deaths as a confirmed terror attack.
“We are working to restore maximum order,” he told reporters.

The attack occurred at Las Ramblas of Barcelona, which attracts a plethora of tourists who are known to stroll through the famous walkway that extends across the city. Spanish police released a statement on twitter calling the attack a “massive crash.”
Local media outlets in Spain report that one of the suspects in the attack has been arrested and is being held at a secret facility.
Reports also state that the police are currently looking for a man by the name of Driss Oukabir, but no further information has been provided regarding his involvement in the attack. It is believed that he rented the van that was used in the attack and he is currently on the run from the police.
Investigators believe that two vans were used by the terrorist in this attack. While one was used for the attack, the other was used the getaway car for the attackers. But the report has not confirmed by the police as at the time of filing this report.
Reports also state that the passport of Spanish citizen who is originally from Morocco was found by police at the scene of the deadly attack.

Although the local media in Spain reported that the men who were behind the attack were now behind bars, the police have now dispelled that report but confirmed that one suspect is currently in custody although it is not yet confirmed if the suspect was directly involved in the attack.
Footage from the scene shows people writhing in pain on the floor while some were seen lying motionless on the floor in a terrible state.
“It was real chaos, people started running, screaming. There was a loud bang,” eyewitness Ethan Spivey told Sky News.
Armed security officials are now at the scene of the incident checking through the market and other areas to determine if there are other attackers on the scene.
A resident, Keith Fleming (who lives across the street), stated that the scene after the attack was chaotic as people ran in multiple directions to safety.

He revealed that he heard another loud sound but didn’t know where the sound came from.

Facebook has also activated its Safety Check feature so users can inform friends and family about their status after the attack.
Over 100 people have been killed in Europe from July 2016, through vehicles attacks that are used by terrorist to ram into public areas in terror attacks in Europe.
