Ford County Bend sheriff Troy Nehls took to Facebook to denounce a pickup truck that has a not so flattering message about President Donald Trump on its rear window. The window features a very explicti message that reads “F___ Trump and f___ for voting for him.”
The sheriff took a very direct route to denounce the message that he considers could disrupt public civility and degenerate into violence, or at least that’s what he claims when he says that he has received multiple phone calls about the truck with the irreverent message which according to the sheriff has been spotted before on Farm Road 359 in Fort Bend County, southwest of Houston
The Texas sheriff believed to have a strong case against the owner of the pickup. “Our prosecutor has informed us she would accept Disorderly Conduct charges regarding it,” Nehls wrote on Facebook, “but I feel we could come to an agreement regarding a modification to it.”
The sheriff’s post was shared more than 5,000 times by Wednesday, but the amount of backlash that the sheriff received for its murky move was harshly criticized from every point and the sheriff soon had to take this post off, but not without making some noise that was caught by the media he so much wanted the attention from in the first instance.

“I have received numerous calls regarding the offensive display on this truck as it is often seen along FM 359.” started writing the sheriff on his Facebook post. “If you know who owns this truck or it is yours, I would like to discuss it with you.” the sheriff continued.
“‘Someone got mad’ is not a breach of the public peace lmao,” wrote one of the commentators. “You have a problem with political speech?” wrote another. “Great. Resign, and spend your days trying to amend the Constitution. In the meantime, the first amendment is clear, and you are in the wrong.”

According to KPRC-TV in Houston, Nehls has political ambitions, and this post might have been motivated by said desires, he has expressed intentions before to run for Texa’s 22nd congressional district, currently held by Rep. Pete Olson and even has an “exploratory” website for what could be the potential campaign. His Twitter is actually very clear on his stance as he has posted before. “My record is clear. I am a fiscal conservative. I am against sanctuary cities. Crime is down not up in Fort Bend. Time for a change in Congress?”
The truck’s owner, Karen Forsenca, said the sticker continue to stay up as it has been for almost a year. “I drive it all the time on a daily basis,” Forsenca said. “I’m not fearful. There’s too much positive, and it makes people smile. They honk their horn, they give you a thumbs up.”
Is this Freedom of Speech or someone trying to incite violence and stir-up trouble?
