The unveiling of Selena’s star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame last Friday ratified the Tejano music queen’s legacy and success. American entertainment website, Hollywood Life, conducted an exclusive interview with Suzette Quintanilla, Selena’s sister, and who also served as a drummer for Los Dinos.
During the interview, Suzette spoke about many subjects involving her sister and her family, but what we were all dying to know was her opinion on celebrities like Demi Lovato or Kim Kardashian dressing up as Selena for Halloween. Her response might surprise a few naysayers.

“What I love about Demi is I know she’s a Texas girl too like Selena,” Suzette said. “She looked beautiful. I thought Kim nailed it too, you know, I just felt that it made her look really Latina!
“Her whole vibe was really Latina and I liked that. A lot of people don’t know this, but I know that with the Kardashians, it’s not some fad type of thing. I know they’ve been fans of Selena and our music from way back because I’m good friends with Adrienne Bailon, who used to be in The Cheetah Girls and she used to date Rob Kardashian years ago so when she was on tour, she would put him on the phone.
“We would talk and they’d all be singing Selena’s songs and listening to them so I know that they always embraced Selena and her music so it’s pretty cool to see that going on 22 years later.”

In addition, the percussion artist also took time to appreciate the energy that regular fans put into dressing like the singer of ‘Bidi Bidi Bom Bom’.

“You notice they’re always happy, any little post that you see, it’s always a happy thing, not a sad thing,” she said to Hollywood Life. “They’re dancing, they’re having a good time, they’re smiling.
“Not even just well-known artists. I love seeing pictures of babies, you know with the little wigs, dressed up like Selena. It’s just so cool. It just shows me that Selena is still being remembered and thought of so it always puts a smile on my face.”
