It seems that every time Donald Trump stirs the pot something gets broken. His recent immigration veto is already starting to affect the lives of thousands of people not just from the countries that are being restricted, but also the lives of American citizens. Not even Ricky Martin is safe from Trump’s heartbreaking legislations, the Boricua star has spent months planning his wedding with his Syrian boyfriend Jwan Yosef, but due to the new restrictions, this celebration of love has suffered a great setback.
Making America Safe is my number one priority. We will not admit those into our country we cannot safely vet.https://t.co/KJ886okyfC

Indeed, making America safe should be Trump’s priority, maybe the ban is necessary, there is no denying that the world is becoming a very dangerous place, something that the current administration has greatly contributed to with its destructive narrative, nevertheless, this veto is still an affront against love, and does very little to keep America safe, just look at what happened in Las Vegas or what is going on in Puerto Rico to see how vulnerable the country has really become.

“As President, I must act to protect the security and interests of the United States and its people,” wrote Trump is his proclamation. “I am committed to our ongoing efforts to engage those countries willing to cooperate, improve information-sharing and identity-management protocols and procedures, and address both terrorism-related and public-safety risks.”

As Americans, we should give our commander in chief the benefit of the doubt, it’s true that America has many enemies, however, we can’t help feeling bad for Ricky Martin. “We started planning our wedding while I was doing Versace, while I was doing my residency in Las Vegas and while I was recording some singles in the studio, mall the while my fiancé was working and doing private shows and events,” said the Puerto Rican singer to Ocean Drive magazine. “Planning a wedding is super overwhelming. We want to do it right, hopefully, next spring. We’ll do the three-day event as I call it.”

The singer is yet to release a date and location for his ceremony, but we can be sure that it will be grandiose and that fortunately, money will not be an issue for the power couple. “It’s going to be a big event. I want something massive,” said the singer of She Bangs to E! News “I for sure want to get married in Puerto Rico. That is something that has to happen.”
The ban will go into immediate effect on October 18 and it will be affecting citizens of eight countries; Iran, Lybia, Yemen, Chad, North Korea, Syria, Somalia, and Venezuela.
