Donald Trump Doesn’t Care For Puerto Rico And Celebrities Are Furious

President Donald Trump has a very nasty chip on his shoulder, product of always being picked last for every game he ever tried to play. The man with the little hands who most probably “throws ball like a girl” (let this mildly rude comment slide for the sake of argument folks), spent his whole weekend angrily clucking at NFL players via Twitter, while Puerto Rico is facing an apocalyptic nightmare in the aftermath of Hurricane Maria.

It all started Saturday when our Trump became fed up with Golden State Warriors’ player Stephen Curry not wanting to visit the White House. The ever so prudent President decided that this was a matter of national interest far beyond the abilities of the Press Secretary and decided that him, himself would publicly announce the invitation withdrawal of the NBA champions to the White House.

That same afternoon, he decided to ostracize another sport (another sport dominated by black men one might add), and concentrated his evil Sith powers on the NFL players who take a knee during the national anthem, a pacific way to to protest police brutality and a trend started by former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick, to whom Trump refereed as a ‘son of a bitch’ in a rally he held in Alabama, a state without an NFL team.

In total, Trump tweeted about sports a total of 17 painful and cringing times, during Saturday through Monday morning. All the while, Puerto Rico’s governor Ricardo Rossello’s calls for a greater federal response to the disaster that took the lives of 13 people, has gone ignored by the POTUS. It seems that Trump, like most mainland residents, doesn’t realize that Puerto Rico is part of the U.S. and that 3.5 million citizens live there.

With the island’s power wiped out, and the damaged airports and harbors making it difficult for outside assistance to help, supplies have started to run low in Puerto Rico. Add to this the ever growing danger of the damaged Guajataca Dam, that will most definitely burst if the matter goes unattended, endangering the lives of thousands and complicating recovery and rescue efforts.

It wasn’t until late Monday afternoon, that the President took to Twitter to talk about Puerto Rico, but far from reassuring its people that things will get fixed, he used the platform to berate the island’s infrastructure and debt to Wall Street.

Given the circumstances, I think we like him more as a sports commentator than a President. More will be reported as the story unfolds.
