Judge Won’t Drop Charges Against Latina Student Attacked By White Supremacists

Jessica Aguilar is a Latina college student who attended and protested Donald Trump’s #MAGA rally at Huntington Beach in March. One would assume months later that the matter would have taken care of itself, but the judge refuses to drop the unjust assault charges that Aguilar faces.

Despite photo and video evidence proving her innocence, Latina college student Jessica Aguilar is the only remaining defendant from the rally that is getting held up in court. The mass event, which took over headlines everywhere, served as a gross display of alt-right supremacy.

Rise Above the Movement Division (RAM), Anti-Communist Action and members of the neo-Nazi Hammerskin street gang violently badgered and assaulted the vastly outnumbered anti-racism protesters. To make matters worse, the event was treated by the mainstream media as just another senseless political fight.

News outlets ignored the dark undertones hidden within the rally. The evidence published by an OC Weekly reporter, who was beaten-up in the same rally, documents the far right member’s violent acts and proves that what Aguilar did was solely for self-defense.

Trump movement’s racism and ultra-nationalism have given the far-right white supremacists a sense of entitlement in a country that has flourished thanks to a variety of cultures coming together. This judge’s reaction toward’s Aguilar case is nothing but disheartening about the situation we find ourselves in today.
