That picture you see below is Air Force One taking off from the Vegas airport, with the bullet-ridden Mandalay Bay suite in the forefront, where Stephen Paddock cowardly opened fire against hundreds of innocent people, An eerie image to say the least…
President Donald Trump made the trip to Vegas, Nevada and visited many of the mass shooting victims in one of the city’s hospitals. One of the people the President got to meet was Thomas Gunderson, a young man who was badly injured on his leg by one of the shooter’s bullets while running toward the hotel.
What’s curious about this meeting is how Gunderson pulled himself up on his injured leg, despite the doctor’s and First Lady requests to not get up, but Gunderson’s pride was too strong and it was rewarded by the President’s kind words towards him as they met. “This guy looks tough to me” said Donald Trump as he shook Gunderson’s hand.

“I will never lie down when the President of this great country comes to shake my hand! There may be plenty of issues in this country but I will always respect my country, my president and my flag. Shot in the leg or not, I will stand to show my President the respect he deserves!” captioned his video Thomas Gunderson when he uploaded it to Facebook. At such vulnerable times, a little patriotism can go a long way to recover faith in the survivors. Hopefully the President’s words will help Gunderson heal faster and put behind the horrific moment he had to live along with thousand others.
The video went viral, having been shared 288,479 times since the time this article was written, over 337,000 people have reacted to the video and more than 51,000 have commented on it, even though most of the comments are advertisement to watch the “It” movie for free (don’t fall for it, it’s malware!). Gunderson must surely be happy to read many positive comments about his moment with the President, people from all over the United States are praising him for patriotism and bravery. the video also has its share of naysayers, but the comments are usually directed at the President and not to Gunderson.
Clark County Sheriff Joseph Lombardo reported to the media that 59 people had been killed during the incident, and 527 have been reported injured. The perpetrator Stephen Paddock, was reported dead at the scene, allegedly over a self-inflicted gun wound.
