On August 28th, 2016, the world of music was in mourning with the news of Juan Gabriel’s passing. Details of his death remain blurry over a year later, with some even claiming that the singer is still alive.
Journalists Juan Manuel Navarro and Javier León Herrera published a book called “Adiós Eterno” (Eternal Goodbye) in which they reveal what caused the death of the singer. In the book, they explain the singer died from a heart attack caused by phlegms he failed to expel.
That situation happened before in Las Vegas on April 14th, 2016, when Juan Gabriel stayed at the Mandalay Bay Hotel. He nearly choked trying to expel phlegms, but fortunately for him, his air pilot was there and saved his life.
The pilot, named Danny, took the singer to a hospital to receive medical attention. The book reveals many details that happened before the singer’s death. Juan Gabriel felt he was about to die soon, so he made a list with the initials of the people he needed to ask for forgiveness. They also say he was afraid of depression.
Navarro and Herrera claim Juan Gabriel caused his death. He didn’t take care of himself when he knew he was sick. “Two years ago he almost died suffocating and refused to go to the emergency room,” Navarro said.
He was more afraid of depression than death. He didn’t want to get old and sick. He was afraid of not being able to sing anymore. These are just a few of the claims the authors make in their book.
According to TV Notas, the authors reveal that after the doctor certified Juan Gabriel’s cause of death, they transferred his body to a funeral home on an improvised trolley, and cremated him 36 hours later.
