Donald Trump’s oldest daughter, Ivanka Trump, recently revealed the reason why she does not speak out against her father. She says that despite having different political views than the president on many issues, contradicting him would mean she’s not part of the team.
Many people think Ivanka has the most influence over Trump, but she says that Trump can’t be swayed when it comes to core topics. The president’s daughter says expectations of her changing her dad’s mind are unrealistic, but that he does listen to advisors who both agree and disagree with him.
Ivanka commented that convincing her father of something he is against will never happen. She believes that Trump should not abandon his values or the agenda for which the citizens of the United States elected him to run this country.
Despite her eloquent words that are the polar opposite of her dad’s, it’s a fact that Ivanka is extremely involved in the president’s decisions. She recently had a secret meeting with the Federal Reserve’s president, Janet Yellen, that the media learned about only after the Fed sent out their monthly calendar.
The Federal Reserve and the Trumps have declined to make any comments regarding this secret meetup. But the reunion does offer more insight on why Trump had such kind words to say about Yellen, even saying he’s seriously thinking of nominating her to run the Reserve in the new period.
Another way Ivanka has a say in what happens at the White House is by appointing positions, the latest being Hope Hicks. Hicks is a 28-year-old friend of the president’s daughter who used to model, act, did public relations, and worked for Ivanka’s clothing company.
Trump has said great things about Hicks, who is now the interim White House Communications Director. Her original position was the White House Director of Strategic Communications, which she had been appointed to back in December of 2016.
Hicks replaced Anthony Scaramucci, who took over after Mike Dubke resigned, and she will likely be in that position permanently now. Ms. Hicks has rarely been on camera, but the media calls her an untouchable piece of the Trump administration.
It goes without saying that Hicks is not the most experienced person for the job, but the Trumps trust her. She graduated in 2010 from the Southern Methodist University in Dallas before starting to work for the Trump Organization in 2014.
Ivanka Trump does indeed influence the decisions of her father, but she says things like these to maintain her soft-spoken image. In the end, though, all members of the Trump administration are responsible for every one of his moves, especially Ivanka.
