José José was shocked after a paparazzo broke into his hospital room and started taking pictures, so much so that the Mexican singer was sent back to intensive care after the incident.
José José was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in March of 2017. He began receiving chemo and surgery straight away, and months later doctors were convinced he’d be able to make it.
Last November, the “El Triste” singer had a successful four-hour surgery at the Instituto Nacional de Ciencias Médicas y Nutrición in Mexico City. The singer was left to recover at a Mexico City hospital and was doing well.
Eager to capture images of the recovering musician, a paparazzo thought it’d be a good idea to sneak into the 69-year-old’s hospital room. It’s unknown if the photographer was able to take pictures because he immediately ran away after the incident.
The singer’s children regularly visit their father. Their visits, however, must be temporarily halted now that extreme hygiene is required.
In a 2015 interview, José José stated he is not ready to die, saying, “I’ve got a thousand things to do at all levels, personally and professionally.” Telemundo Studios recently announced the name of a serialized biography they plan to produce to pay homage to the singer.
