Remember the beautifully fierce Fresno felon who got arrested a couple weeks ago for carrying an unlicensed loaded gun in her car while traveling with her baby and two other gang members? Well, her name is Mirella Ponce, and the ferocious gangster appeared timid in front of cameras as she got released from Fresno County jail last Wednesday.
She pled guilty to a single felony charge. This time around, her demeanor was much friendlier than her booking picture that turned her into an immediate, overnight internet sensation.

“Being in there opened my eyes. It was only a week and two days but that week and two days felt like years and years, it felt like hell,” said Ponce to ABC, sounding profoundly remorseful and letting people now that she would now focus on being a better mother.
“It wasn’t like I was going to do a drive-by. It was a friend’s birthday. We were going to celebrate, but I made the mistake to carry my daughter and my gun at the same time. But she wasn’t in any danger. I wouldn’t do it again.”
Ponce’s mugshot that gave her the nickname hot felon, got shared over 5,000 times on Facebook. “I’m a mother of two – twenty at that – to have your mugshot blasted everywhere that’s pretty embarrassing,” she explained.

Now that the Fresno mother regained her freedom and is focused on turning her life around, she could start posing for cameras again. This time, though, it won’t be for a mugshot, but for a modeling portfolio.
“My mom has always told me, ‘Oh you are so beautiful why are you doing bad things, you could try to pursue a career like that’, it’s crazy this is what it took for me to learn my lesson.”

Fresno photographer, Desiree Genera, wasn’t going to let the opportunity to photograph one of the internet’s most sought out girls pass her by. She reached out to Ponce through a mutual friend for a photoshoot.
“You can tell that she wants to change her life around,” said Genera. “And modeling could be a career for her.”
Genera, who claims to have gone through some tough times in her life herself, says she understands the importance of being granted a second chance. Desiree posted the hot felon’s pictures on her Instagram account, where, and we must admit that the results are stunning, Ponce could actually break into this industry!
