Will we ever manage to go one day without a person humiliating him or herself beyond repair? The next question is: Can common sense really be that uncommon?
Well, judging by a moment that was caught on video November 3rd in Conyers, Georgia, it is. Sadly, this time it is more than just an embarrassing video because it wasn’t just another idiot getting caught on camera during a hissy fit.
What you will watch is a direct threat from a high school teacher, to one of his students. The student is African-American and the teacher told him, ‘That’s how people like you get shot.’

“Don’t smile at me, man. That’s how people like you get shot. I got a bet by the time you’re 21 somebody’s gonna to put a bullet right through your head. Okay? And it might be me the one who does it,” said 60-year-old Physics teacher, Paul Hagan.
All of this sparked from the 17-year-old 11th grader laughing during class. The short-tempered Rockdale Career Academy teacher was writing an equation on the blackboard when the incident occurred.

The video was caught by another student and presented to April Carr, the boy’s mother, who uploaded it to her Facebook where it quickly went viral. After that, Mrs. Carr didn’t waste any time and launched a campaign against the school board to have the teacher fired.
A school investigation and a criminal investigation already opened up and the teacher has been put on administrative leave. Speaking to Tom Jones from WSB-TV 2 Atlanta, the mother said, “I think it’s a terroristic threat on my son’s life that I definitely don’t take lightly. I want him fired. And I want him fired and I want charges pressed against him.”

This racist teacher clearly has no business inside a classroom. His harsh comments were directed at a black student, making his actions borderline criminal.
He is clearly a pathological racist, especially given the tumultuous times we are living in due to gun violence. It is exactly this kind of rhetoric that leads to so many mass shootings, but hopefully, justice will be served and Rockdale County kids will be able to feel safe inside their own school.
