High School Teacher Arrested For Doing Cocaine Inside School Property Before Class

For years, the government has been saying that drug use in schools is one of the toughest challenges that the authorities have to face, for a long time we believed that the problem was 100% student related, we would have never dared to question a teacher’s integrity or stance on the subject, however, after watching this video, that point of view might just change a little.

Will Rogers a junior at the Indiana Lake Central High School, wasn’t exactly sure about what he was shooting at first, but he knew that something odd was going on and didn’t want to miss it. The student recorded a video through the window of a locked classroom that showed a high school teacher in the corner of the room doing cocaine at 10:30 a.m. on a Wednesday.

“When I actually watched the footage again and again and I just realized that my English teacher just did cocaine,” Will Rogers told WGN. The student then posted the video on YouTube where it went viral on a local level, and when school authorities caught wind about what was going on they quickly notified the St. John, Indiana, police.

The police then arrested the 24-year-old teacher Samantha Cox in possession of controlled substance and drug paraphernalia, according to a statement released by the St. John Police Department Chief, James Kveton on the Northwest Indiana Times, the drugs that the teacher was using were a mix of cocaine and heroin. Police authorities praised Rogers for his detective skills and for bringing the serious subject into the light.

“School officials and police want to recognize and praise the student witness that brought this information to the principal very quickly,” the police statement read. “Their actions showed a tremendous amount of fortitude and integrity.” A phone call with a recording by the school district informed the school parents about the arrest.

“I’m grateful that they found out when they did and they were quick-acting,” parent Shannon McGrath told WGN. “You’re told as a child to listen to them, respect them and stuff like that… But it’s kinda hard to respect somebody who does cocaine in a classroom,” junior Anthony Rios told the station.

Reports also indicate that the teacher is currently being held at the Lake County jail and that her case is still pending.
