A family in Boerne, Texas took over the internet by sharing a video of their Christmas lights twinkling to Selena Quintanilla’s “Bidi Bidi Bom Bom.” The family won the Boerne Parade of Lights with this amazing spectacle in tribute to the queen of Tejano music.
Last Saturday, the Hinojosa family shared the video on social media and it has over two million views. In the video, you can appreciate the lights moving to the rhythm of the hit song.
One of the family members, Beto Hinojosa, said his family has improved their light show over the last four years. Besides the Tejano girl’s music, the family’s light show includes a song from Disney movie, Moana, a “Dubstep Christmas” and a tribute song for the troops, “God Bless the USA.”
“They are all LED’s, and since our AC is off, not consuming that electricity, we pay about the same amount we do any other month,” Hinojosa said. The Hinojosa’s home is located in the neighborhood of Kendall Creek Estates, and they invite you to watch the show from 5:30 P.M. to 11:00 P.M. every night – except on rainy nights.
Beto said the show does not annoy the neighborhood. The neighbors even help him set everything up each year. The light show hasn’t attracted that many people yet, but now that Selena’s video went viral, the Hinojosa family expect a change in the following days.
