Teacher Arrested After Confessing To Recording Christian School Boys In Restroom

Investigation of an invasive video recording complaint from Texarkana, Texas led the local Police Department to the seizing of a Catholic teacher’s work computer and digital devices.

Last Saturday, November 27th, an 11-year-old boy went to his father with a confession. While in the restroom at the local JC Penny, a man from the adjoining stall slipped his camera phone under the stall divider and took a picture of the boy.

Store employees got notified and met with police officers. The man who was in the public restroom taking pictures is Shane S. Jones, a 31-year-old Trinity Christian School teacher, who vehemently denied having taken any pictures of the boy at first.

Upon closer investigation, the science teacher’s phone would reveal several headshots of other children, which he claimed to be his students. Though he was not detained at the store, police kept Jones’ phone to accurately determine whether pictures of the bathroom stall boy had been deleted.

After Texarkana Ark., detectives were placed on the case, Jones’ digital devices got seized, and he got booked into the Miller County Jail for voyeurism and video voyeurism charges this Friday. Jones confessed to recording a variety of schoolboys while they were in the restroom when interviewed by Detective David Parker.

He got fired from his teaching position at Trinity Christian School the day that the charges were placed. The investigation is ongoing and could reveal that Jones might be responsible for more than just restroom recordings.

The school expressed their deepest regrets in a letter they sent to the parents via email. They claim to be cooperating with the police department fully, providing them with all of the requested information.
